About This Service
Why Commercial Concrete Polishing?
Polished concrete is a cost-effective modern method of quickly brightening and strengthening commercial, retail, and industrial spaces with a durable no-wax, low-maintenance, high-sheen or high-gloss flooring system. The process involves treating an existing concrete slab with a chemical densifier and progressively grinding and polishing it with increasingly finer diamond grits until achieving the desired reflective aggregate sheen. Polished concrete is one of the most eco-friendly floor systems available, offering a sustainable alternative to carpeting, vinyl, and tile overlays. Our polishing system offers three distinct grades of finish based on the appearance of revealed aggregate. Grade 1 (Light-Sand Finish) delivers a popular, creamy-looking commercial finish that shows only fine sand particles. Grade 2 (Salt and Pepper Finish) produces an aged-looking finish that shows some smaller scattered bits of concrete aggregate. Grade 3 (Aggregate Finish) is a customized, heavily cut surface that reveals a great deal of larger aggregate bits. Each grade can then be finished at three reflective shine levels: Class 1 (400 grit) for a low-gloss surface, Class 2 (800 grit) for a medium-gloss mirror-like reflectivity commonly used in retail and commercial spaces, or Class 3 (1500 grit) for a high-gloss, high mirrored reflectivity surface. Polished concrete is approximately one-half to one-third the cost of ceramic tile or hardwood flooring, making it a more cost-effective alternative to installing carpet, vinyl, or linoleum. The surface reflects natural light, reducing artificial lighting needs and improving employee morale. It is hypoallergenic, fungi-proof, and requires no long-term waxing, stripping, or re-polishing. With proper installation, polished concrete floors withstand constant high foot-traffic, heavy loads, and typical impacts while resisting moisture and allowing the surface to breathe.

Step by Step
Our Commercial Concrete Polishing Process
Assessment & Preparation
We evaluate your existing concrete condition, discuss finish grades (Light-Sand, Salt and Pepper, or Aggregate) and shine levels (400, 800, or 1500 grit), then provide a detailed estimate. The surface is dampened with water and filler compound is applied to damaged areas.
Diamond Grinding
Diamond grit pads grind the surface uniformly smooth. Floors typically require anywhere from 6 to 12 passes from an industrial grinding machine with progressively finer diamond blades to achieve the specified finish grade.
Densification & Polishing
Densifying and hardening products are applied and polished using ceramic tools. Progressive polishing continues with increasingly finer diamond grit pads to build up the desired reflective sheen level.
Color & Customization
Customer-requested colors, dyes, stains, markings, and logos are added and sealed. Two to three coats of penetrating sealer are applied to protect the finished surface and enhance durability.
Final Buff & Completion
Curing time is approximately one hour. A final buff completes the finish to your specified shine class. Traffic may resume shortly after, minimizing disruption to your daily operations.
